Valicit Marketplace Breaks Records as 230,000 Fans Rush to Buy Numi Tickets

Last Updated: August 31, 2023By

In a ticketing rush that warrants comparisons with Taylor Swift’s global tour, Valicit Marketplace has recorded an impressive 150,000 ticket sales in one day. The feat is all the more remarkable for it occurring on the testnet of Venom, a web3 blockchain whose mainnet has yet to launch.

Despite testnet tokens being used to secure access to the Numi Stories event, the tickets are very real, as are the permissions they grant their holder. Required to access the Numi PvP contests taking place within the Numiverse, the tickets effectively serve as a proof of concept for blockchain ticketing as a whole, demonstrating its advantages over legacy systems.

Record Demand Takes Everyone by Surprise

The 150,000 Numi tickets snapped up within the first 24 hours of going on sale appear to have been a pleasant surprise for all parties. Valicit has shown that its ticketing marketplace can withstand robust demand, Numi has demonstrated that there’s genuine interest in its music-based mobile game, and Venom has gained an ideal test case for its scalable web3 network.

Mohammad Binyamin Chaudhry, Founder & President of Valicit, has been particularly pleased with developments, stating: “Launching on the Venom testnet has been an exhilarating journey. The ticket sales we’ve witnessed so far have truly been mind blowing, reaffirming our belief in the power of blockchain. This is just the beginning of our journey and we will continue our efforts to shape the future alongside the Venom blockchain.”

Although operating on Venom, Valicit was designed to solve problems much greater than those localized to any single ecosystem. Ticketing, be it for concerts, comedy, theater, sports, or online events, is a highly inefficient industry in which profits are routinely absorbed by intermediaries who’ve added the least value. Blockchain has the potential to disintermediate, removing scalpers and touts from the equation altogether, while eliminating fake tickets into the bargain.

Numi Stories Finds an Audience

That tickets for the Numi Stories mobile game have been shifting so fast says a lot about the caliber of the release and particularly the PvP battles it unlocks. The entire crypto market has been likened to a giant PvP game for most of 2023 so it seems fitting that this format should have induced FOMO in Venom testnet users.

Given the number of web3-friendly blockchains now vying for market share, the onus is on their creators to onboard projects of sufficient quality to stimulate organic growth. So far, Numi appears to be succeeding in that respect, with players vibing on its mobile game. The anime-styled visuals complement an immersive narrative that combines storytelling with catchy music that maps to the player’s progress.

Players who’ve acquired a Numi Stories ticket from Valicit Marketplace are able to take part in PvP battles in Club 404, which is located on the Numi Stories in-game map. Leaderboards for the player vs player battles are currently under development, but daily updates will be posted to the Numi Twitter account in the meantime. The PvP series is set to end on September 5, whereupon the top 100 players will be awarded an exclusive RadLad NFT.
