Last Updated: April 1, 2020By

The Blockchain Game Alliance (BGA) declared the appointment of its new president and called its original sponsors.

BGA elected Sébastien Borget as its new president. It also embraced video game company Ubisoft, VC company Animoca Brands, semiconductor firm Advanced Micro Devices (AMD), and builders of digital currency Dai MakerDao as amongst its new sponsors.

The association was established in 2019 and represented the blockchain gaming and major game industry events. It has ninety games and blockchain companies promoting blockchain technology in the gaming industry.

Its purpose is to expand awareness about blockchain technologies and promote adoption by emphasizing their potential to cultivate new ways to create, play, publish, and build healthy communities throughout games.

It also offers an open forum for individuals and companies to bestow knowledge and associate, build common standards, and build best practices and network.

“I’m a strong believer in aligning the interests of players, creators, and game developers and will continue to encourage true ownership for game players and creators through the inclusion of the blockchain industry,” Borget stated after his appointment.

Borget’s profile incorporates a comprehensive background within the blockchain gaming industry. He was also the co-founder and COO of The Sandbox, a decentralized virtual gaming platform.

“Sébastien Borget has been an active community member in the blockchain game space for years, and we’re delighted to elect him as the new President of the Blockchain Game Alliance,” stated Manon Burgel, who will pass the baton to Borget.

While the developers of TON blockchain are still analyzing its deployment, notwithstanding the injunctive ruling from the U.S. court, Fedor Skuratov, a spokesperson for TCF (TON Community Foundation), the organization behind the TON blockchain stated that they were not overwhelmed by the unfavorable decision they obtained from the U.S. court. It would not prevent them from attempting the blockchain technology.
