Omni Network Launches Core Mainnet to Unify Ethereum’s Rollup Ecosystem
New York, NY, December 17th, 2024, Chainwire
Omni launches Core mainnet to reunify the $58 billion in TVL scattered across Ethereum rollups, introducing a fast and secure protocol for cross-rollup communication as the foundation of the Omni Orderflow Engine.
Omni Network, today, announces the mainnet launch of Omni Core, the base layer of the Omni Orderflow Engine. Omni Core comprises a cross-chain messaging protocol and an EVM, secured by Ethereum through restaking.
The proliferation of Ethereum rollups has caused $58 billion in TVL to be scattered across more than 40 networks, creating significant challenges for users and developers alike. Omni is built to reunite the ecosystem, empowering users and developers to seamlessly interact with Ethereum as if it were a single unified chain. Today’s mainnet launch introduces Omni Core, a secure, decentralized, and low-latency protocol for cross-rollup communication. Core functions as a key building block to Omni’s Orderflow Engine, where Core works together with Omni’s SolverNet to abstract away any cross-rollup interaction.
“Ethereum’s rollup-centric roadmap was a necessary step for scaling, but it left the ecosystem fragmented and disconnected,” says Austin King, Co-Founder and CEO of Omni Labs. “With Omni, we’ve built a solution that restores unity to Ethereum by simplifying cross-rollup interactions and enabling seamless user experiences. Omni’s mainnet launch is just the beginning—we’re committed to any action, any chain, in one second or less.”
Omni Core is built using the Octane framework, a novel open source protocol architecture that runs separate consensus and execution environments in parallel. Omni Core immediately supports seamless interoperability among major Ethereum-compatible networks, including Ethereum L1, Arbitrum, Optimism, and Base, representing over 90% of total value-locked across the entire Ethereum ecosystem.
“Fragmentation has limited the true potential of Ethereum. Liquidity is spread thin, and users face unnecessary friction just to move between rollups. Omni changes that,” says Tyler Tarsi, Co-Founder and CTO of Omni Network. “By providing cross-rollup communication in less than a second together with Ethereum-native security, we empower developers and users to build and interact with Ethereum without previous limitations. Omni is here to unify Ethereum and unleash its capabilities.”
Omni’s launch of its Core mainnet introduces an extremely fast and secure global state layer for the Ethereum ecosystem. It will serve as the foundation for Omni’s upcoming SolverNet release, which will abstract away cross-rollup complexities from both users and developers. Together, Omni Core and SolverNet will create the Omni Orderflow Engine, allowing users to perform any action on any rollup in under one second. Ultimately, the Omni Orderflow Engine will provide a chain abstracted experience for both users and developers without modifying user behaviors or requiring smart contract changes.

About Omni Network
Omni is the abstraction layer for the Ethereum ecosystem, allowing developers to access all the users and liquidity across rollups without upgrading their contracts. Backed by leading investors, including Pantera Capital, Hashed Fund, Jump Crypto, Two Sigma Ventures, and The Spartan Group, Omni raised $18M in April 2023 to advance its mission of making Ethereum feel like a single, unified network for developers and users.
