Job posting by NASA

Clearly, blockchain technology is finding its applications in all industries and sector. The next initiative would be expanding these applications beyond the planet, and that is something NASA is intending to do.

NASA recently posted a job offer asking for a professional who has experience in the cryptocurrency and blockchain industry. The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) published a job posting on LinkedIn looking for a data scientist, who is expected to work in the organization’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory located in Pasadena, California. They are looking for someone having experience working with crypto and blockchain technology, the amount of experience is not particularly specified.

As of now, the position expects the applicant to implement a program that will examine large and complex scale sets of data which will be used for analysis, research, modeling, and data mining.

NASA on Blockchain

Nasa already has the most sophisticated computers in the world, and has a notable volume of power at their disposal. The aerospace agency is not new to the applications of blockchain technology.

Earlier this year, NASA suggested an air traffic management blockchain protocol for private, protected, and anonymous communication with the air traffic services.

Last year in April, NASA awarded funds for the development of an autonomous spacecraft which was to apply blockchain for making decisions without human intermediaries.
