IoT Blockchain Platform Nodle.io Launches Covid-19 Contact Tracing App!

Last Updated: April 20, 2020By

Internet of Things (IoT) startup Nodle.io has originated a new app to trace the spread of COVID-19 further.

Named Coalition, the contact tracing app, utilizes Nodle’s Bluetooth Low Energy-powered network to interact with nearby devices. To retain the users’ privacy, the app only registers the anonymous conflicts with other Coalition users locally on the phone.

It creates arbitrary anonymous IDs of the user’s identity utilizing an open protocol named Coalition Whisper Tracing. If a user says that he is sick, the anonymous IDs from the phone are transmitted to the cloud. The app on another user’s phone will then download the “infected” IDs and match it with the IDs stored locally. Users who come in association with the infected persons will be informed.

“We believe the only way to stop COVID-19 is through massive cooperation and solidarity between citizens around the world who can do their part to protect themselves and their communities,” stated Micha Benoliel, CEO and Co-Founder of Nodle in a statement. “We must work fast to put the right safeguards in place before we reopen society and put economies back on track.”

The app will be released next week in California with the guidance of local leaders. Coalition’s associates involve Berkeley Blockchain Xcelerator, TCN Coalition, NY Tech Alliance, and COVID Alliance, to name a few.

Nodle is the world’s most comprehensive ecosystem of connected devices, implementing infrastructure, software, and access to data for the Internet of Things. The firm has a great community with over 10 million smartphones on its network. It anonymizes data to defend the user’s privacy.

Nodle has a distinct set of applications as it provides an easy way to discover IoT devices and connect them on the cloud. It is beneficial in the supply chain, consumer electronics, and even in sensors and machines because it provides for easy updates synchronization and status monitoring.

Meantime, Israeli spyware firm NSO Group Ltd also produced a product to track the spread of COVID-19. According to reports, the founders and investors of the firm have also helped blockchain companies.
