Indian Election Commission Introduces Blockchain In Voting Mechanism

Last Updated: February 17, 2020By

The burgeoning demand for Blockchain technology is pretty much in a neat shape. Many companies and countries are in the ever-increasing demand for blockchain technologies to give their shot with blockchain to improve the present financial contingencies.

Now many countries are lying in the pipeline to operate the blockchain technology into their financial streams, and many have superseded in rolling out their very own flourishing cryptocurrencies.

One of the most significant reasons as to why the countries and companies are looking forward to it is due to the improved sustainability and capability of the technology. There are a lot of improvements in the space, and with expanding demand, it is getting more competitive.

Can India pull this off?

These sorts of technologies are now ready to see in many of the developing countries, particularly countries that are seeking to develop their financial backgrounds. India lately made the radar with their recent declaration of the introduction of the blockchain technology.

According to the news, India is preparing to recondition their technologies to administer future elections that are to be held in the Country.

According to the sources, the Country’s election commission is attempting to implement the blockchain-based voting system with the aid of the great minds of IIT Madras, one of the elite institutions in the Country.

According to the association, the Election commission of India is joining hands with the institution to form a two-way electronic voting system that is lined up by the blockchain technology.

The most significant breakthrough that the election commission of India is looking forward to is to ensure that all the eligible voters must vote no matter the physical obstacles that an ordinary voter of India faces.

Taking into account the numbers, the Indian Election fails on an average of nearly 25% of voter count due to the non-accessibility of the home constituencies. This majorly brings disadvantages to the commission that could easily be avoided.

A lot of goodies under the roof

To make sure such situations don’t occur, the Indian Election commission is intending to bring the blockchain technology into the two-way complicated voting system. With the system in action, the voters can vote wherever they want and are not obligated to vote in their home constituencies.

The Indian election commission states that with this system in practice, they can hinder many other problems as well with the implementation of the system.

The implementation of such a system will allow the Country to explore even more with blockchain technology.
