Hunan to Build its First Blockchain Zone Named Wanbao Blockchain Zone
The central Chinese province of Hunan has authorized the establishment of the Wanbao blockchain zone, according to a local news report.
According to China’s 2019 blockchain zone development evaluation report, Luodi heads at 17 among domestic blockchain zones.
Luodi’s blockchain zone has already attracted several industry-leading enterprises, including Incite Data, Shareslink, Hyperchain, and Shenzhen Defang Technology.
According to the report, there are 788 blockchain enterprises founded in Hunan, the highest number in the country.
The province has initial plans to develop three major blockchain zones: blockchain industrial parks in Wanbao’s new district of Loudi city, and other special zones in Gaoxing district and Jingkai district in the city of Changsha.
Hainan’s blockchain pilot zone secured funding of 1 billion yuan ($142 million) from the government.
As blockchain proceeds to go mainstream in China, long-term investment forecasts predict blockchain investment will reach $2 billion by 2023.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Education of China has just awarded the Chengdu University of Information Technology (CUIT) support to offer the country’s first undergraduate blockchain engineering major. Admission and enrollment will begin this year, according to a China news agency report.
China’s first blockchain engineering significant plans to catch up with ever-changing developments in the social economy and social informatization. The original plan to implement training to satisfy the requirements of the blockchain industry.
The course is created to furnish students with skills in blockchain system design, project management, and implementation.
The program will provide future blockchain professionals to obtain skills in computer science and technology, the basic theory of blockchain technology, and blockchain project development methods, according to the report.
It was recently reported that to battle against the coronavirus, China has shifted to blockchain technology to handle medical data, track supply of virus prevention materials, and advise the public.
The tax bureau of Beijing also officially declared that it would commence executing blockchain invoicing in the city this month.
In January last year, it was reported that the Food and Drug Administration of Chongqing Yuzhong District was going to implement blockchain to increase the supervision of food and drug production.
