Recognizing web3's potential for disruption beyond the hype

Gary Vee on Enduring The Crypto Winter And The Future of Web3

Last Updated: December 5, 2022By

Everyone wants to know what Gary Vee thinks. When the very successful social media and NFT entrepreneur visited and Mana Common’s The Gateway: A Web3 Metropolis opening night celebration on Tuesday, he left a path of shocked bystanders in his wake. Similarly, as he left the Dupont Building in downtown Miami yesterday after delivering a panel discussion on the state and future of the Web3 industry, he went like Michael Jackson—with an explosive round of applause followed by a swift exit to avoid the swarming cameras and networking enthusiasts. Before he did so, though, Vee (formerly Vaynerchuk) gave a speech that Web3 fans needed to hear. He spoke earnestly, showing he cared about Web3’s situation and the people working on blockchain features for the future.

Emerging from the crypto winter

Vaynerchuck said that bitcoin and NFTs are generally experiencing an economic downturn. “We get out of it in the same manner that the internet did. From 2001 through 2004, many websites such as Friendster served as precursors to Reddit and Instagram. In the next three-hundred-and-thirty-six months, individuals will construct important things rather than quick ones for quick income.”

Vee also told people who want to be essential builders for Web3 to think about the long-term health of each organization or partner they work with. “Be as critical of your views, ideas, and business tactics as others,” he said. “I spent most of 2021 and the first part of 2022 in meetings,” said Vee. “In 19 of every 20 meetings, the individual on the other side of the Zoom could not answer the second chess move of the question: ‘How would you generate demand when the market softens?” “No one was able to provide me with a satisfactory response.”

Vee reminded people that success comes slowly and that Web3’s winding road to victory is not for the weak-hearted. He said people might leave the Web3 area during a downturn, not because they don’t believe in it anymore, but because they might not be ready to “live humbly” through the hard times. He did this by comparing the early days of Web 2 to how rough they were.

“If you’re attempting to live one percent of a one percent life, it’s intended to be difficult.” GARY VEE

Vee said, “I’ve always been more proud of that version of myself than any of my sexiness.” “I am pleased to be a genuine businessman. Real s*** takes time to build. If you’re aiming to live a one-percent of a one-percent life, you can expect difficulty. Everyone speaks about living “that life” until “that life” hits them in the face.

Remaining humble, staying hungry

When asked how he maintains a modest demeanor despite the success of VeeFriends and his other business endeavors, Vee did not mince words describing his attitude toward his accomplishments.

Vee said honestly, “Business success means jack squat.” “If I die tomorrow, I will trend on Twitter for 24 hours, and then everyone will live out their lives the next day.” I don’t think that being good at making money or being a successful entrepreneur gives someone the right to believe they are better than others. My business’s success is not a source of validation. The opinions of those who genuinely know me provide me with much more justification.

“I’m going to get mine, and no one is going to stop me from getting mine; thus, I root for everyone else to obtain theirs.” GARY VEE

Regardless, Vee is laser-focused on encouraging the success of his dream project—expanding the reach of the VeeFriends’ intellectual property as far as possible. Nothing is off-limits: movies, amusement parks, and cartoons are just a few of Vee’s expansion plans for his NFT empire. While analyzing the course of Marvel Comics, Vee noticed that the cultural titan did not begin with colossal IP power. Vee explained that the answer is to take excellent care to develop the IP, which takes years.

About NFT

Vee said, “There’s no doubt in my mind that this company puts me in a position to buy the New York Jets, which has been my business goal for as long as I can remember.” “I am not really concerned about the [crypto] winter.” I believe that when the dust settles in 22 years, you will forget many of the names we fuck with now, and I will be fucking dominant. But if I don’t, I will be stoked about The World of Women or Bored Apes. “I’m going to get mine, and no one is going to stop me. That’s why I want everyone else to receive theirs.”

The prospects for VeeFriends

As 2023 gets closer, Vee talks about the future of VeeFriends and says that VeeCon 2023 is the most important event for the brand. He did this to show that the company focuses on developing technology solutions for their community and the Web ecosystem. The company is also focusing on “deflationary dynamics” to reward community members instead of launching new collections to lure new users into the VeeFriends universe.

You may be unselfish and yet be okay with being selfish for yourself and your family – GARY VEE.

Vee anticipated that in 25 years, there would be an equal number of significant intellectual assets with roots in the Web3 period, and he is convinced that VeeFriends will be among them. This lengthy duration indicates that developing NFT projects must continually execute and produce to justify their current floor pricing. This contrasts sharply with past initiatives such as CryptoPunks, of which Vee controls 61 NFTs and whose value as crucial assets in the history of NFTs is unquestioned.

Vee took a break from business to talk about legacy and what it means to him at the end of the panel discussion. He pointed out that being persistent in getting what you want and being kind are two great qualities.

Vee said, “I would like my legacy to be that I gave more than I got.” I took a big f*cking whack at it to demonstrate that one can be both compassionate and ambitious. “You may be unselfish while still feeling comfortable being selfish for yourself and your family.” I’m going to give it a forty-year run for its money. I would like to believe that will be my legacy.”

At this early stage, there isn’t much room for material criticism of Vee’s achievements because of their economic and cultural effects. As Vee descended the marble steps of the Dupont Building and went out onto the street, where unending hordes of fans greeted him, he did not glance back once. If his departure had a voice, it would simply say, “I have things to do.” The rest of Web3 would do well to take notice of this attitude.
