Per legal terms, the OFAC can only ban a ‘property’ but because the transaction of North Korean Hackers only involved Tornado cash for a ‘digital smart contract,’ the exchange platform actually had no ‘property’ involved with the crime.

A smart contract is public, something between two peers and autonomous, without Tornado cash having the ability to approve or deny it.   A property has to have an ‘owner’ and since Tornado cash is not that, the exchange platform did nothing criminal per law.

These  findings caused Tornado Cash’s native cryptocurrency, $TRON, to skyrocket over 120% in the first day. Currently priced at $18.90 per coin, it still has a major margin of growth.  Its all-time high was $376.99 , reached in February of 2021.   Only 4 years ago, there’s a high chance this coin will find its way to well over $100 again.
