Deutsche Telekom Joins Forces with Subsquid as Node Partner to Elevate Blockchain Data Management

Last Updated: July 8, 2024By

Deutsche Telekom, a leading telecommunications behemoth in Europe, has embarked on a strategic alliance with the decentralized protocol Subsquid. This partnership aims to optimize the management of blockchain data by operating network nodes.

In a press release on Wednesday, the Bonn-based telecom titan announced that its subsidiary has commenced infrastructure operations to enhance the data lake through the deployment of worker nodes. These nodes have been operational since earlier this summer, marking a significant milestone in the collaboration.

Dirk Röder, head of Deutsche Telekom’s web3 infrastructure & solutions team, lauded Subsquid’s solution as a revolutionary advancement for web3, emphasizing the project’s immense potential.

“This collaboration unlocks the full potential of blockchain data, rendering it accessible and functional for developers and users. Our enterprise-grade infrastructure bolsters the security and scalability of the network, laying the groundwork for Subsquid’s robust decentralized Data Lake technology,” Röder stated.

Subsquid Gains Momentum with Deutsche Telekom’s Support

Subsquid co-founder Marcel Fohrmann highlighted that this partnership brings an unprecedented level of legitimacy and security to the network, and by extension, to the broader blockchain technology landscape.

Deutsche Telekom has a history of engaging with blockchain technology, running validators for protocols such as Polygon, Ethereum, and Polkadot. For Subsquid, co-founded in 2021 by Dmitry Zhelezov and Marcel Fohrmann, this alliance fortifies their mission to address the challenges of blockchain data accessibility and the high costs associated with data retrieval. Initially tailored for Polkadot, Subsquid has since expanded to Ethereum, Flare, and launched a beta version for Solana.
