China’s Insurance Titan Allies with Swiss Crypto Bank to Propel Digital Assets in Asia-Pacific
CPIC Investment Management Collaborates with AMINA Group to Enhance Crypto Ventures
CPIC Investment Management (CPICIMHK), the Hong Kong-based subsidiary of China Pacific Insurance Group (CPIC), China’s second-largest property insurance conglomerate, has forged a strategic alliance with Swiss crypto bank AMINA Group (formerly SEBA Bank) to bolster its crypto sector prowess across the Asia-Pacific region.
In an announcement on Wednesday, AMINA Group disclosed that this partnership will empower CPICIMHK to deliver comprehensive investment advisory and banking solutions through the Pacific Waterdrip Digital Asset Funds.
“This collaboration signifies CPICIMHK’s dedication to pioneering innovation and diversification within the financial sphere, bolstered by its recent regulatory enhancements from the Securities and Futures Commission of Hong Kong, allowing it to offer distribution and investment advisory services pertinent to virtual asset investment products,” the statement elucidated.

The Pacific Waterdrip Digital Asset Fund I is designed to support nascent blockchain startups by providing the necessary capital for their expansion and maturation. In contrast, the Pacific Waterdrip Digital Asset Fund II centers on proof-of-stake tokens, offering investors an avenue to engage with energy-efficient and secure digital assets, as detailed in the press release.
Commenting on the collaboration, CPICIMHK CEO Chenggang Zhou articulated that the Hong Kong-based entity will extend its expertise in crypto investment opportunities, whereas AMINA will facilitate on/off-ramping, crypto trading, and custodial services.
CPICIMHK ventured into the crypto market in Q2 2023 by partnering with Waterdrip Capital to inaugurate crypto funds. It remains uncertain whether CPICIMHK continues to depend on Waterdrip’s services following its new strategic collaboration with AMINA Group.
