How Are Celebrities Embracing Blockchain?
Way back in 2009, the worldwide crypto-currency system Bitcoin started its ledger based on Blockchain infrastructure, and in the years since then, it has become quite a phenomenon in the digital world. Even with the reservations of many, this new currency proved to be one of those things that you cannot really stop from taking over the world, just like the internet itself and celebrities are no more behind in embracing this revolution.
Blockchain is not only about Bitcoin. It has a much bigger and widespread impact on the virtual world with its potential to create a vast and all-inclusive global infrastructure. From the perspective of the internet and its users, Blockchain can facilitate the development of systems that are not only digital replacements for physical establishments but of entire pieces of data and information.
For this reason, in spite of the skepticism regarding crypto-currencies, many public figures – actors, athletes, and celebrities from other fields of the profession – have taken a liking to them. And just like the other aspects of their lives, they let their fans know this as well on their social media platforms. Here are some of the popular names that have publicly shown their support for Blockchain.

Paris Hilton
Entrepreneur and TV personality Paris Hilton has shown her love for crypto-currency time and again on her various social media accounts. Her last public collaboration was announced via Twitter where she tweeted about participating in the initial coin offering – a crowd-sourced funding project by LydianCoin and she also went on to say that this is not an ‘advertisement’ and she genuinely believes in the project.
Jamie Foxx
Academy Award-winning actor Jamie Foxx joined the crypto-currency enthusiasts when he associated himself with Cobinhood, a free digital money trading exchange. In September 2017, he tweeted for the company, saying he is participating in the zero fees trading of Cobinhood.
Dennis Coles/ Ghostface Killah
In October last year, American rapper Dennis Coles, better known by his stage name Ghostface Killah got involved in the world of crypto-currency by investing in Cream Capital which is a firm dedicated to building crypto-currency ATMs. Being the co-founder of the establishment, Coles’ involvement in building a network of ATMs for blockchain currency would be good for the market and make many people do away with the skepticisms, as per those involved with the project.
Floyd Mayweather
Floyd Mayweather is yet another name on the blockchain bandwagon of celebrities; and just like in the arena, the boxer likes to make a statement outside of it as well. In July via his personal Instagram account, he posted a photo of himself aboard a plane with wads of notes and talked about making a lot of money on stox.com ICO.
A sister site to invest.com, stox is a bitcoin prediction market product. Again in August, he showed support for Hubii Network’s ICO via the same social platform and declared his feelings about crypto-money with the caption – “You can call me Floyd Crypto Mayweather from now on.”
