Bitcoin Price to Surge $13M by 2045: Michael Saylor

Last Updated: July 29, 2024By

Unsurprisingly, Michael Saylor’s steadfast optimism regarding Bitcoin (BTC) remains unshaken. The MicroStrategy executive chairman reaffirmed his bullish stance on Friday, forecasting the cryptocurrency’s price escalation to an astronomical $13 million by 2045 in his base scenario.

Speaking at the Bitcoin 2024 conference in Nashville, Saylor highlighted that Bitcoin’s current valuation, hovering around $65,000, bestows it with a market capitalization of $1.3 trillion—merely 0.1% of the world’s total wealth.

Saylor elaborated that for Bitcoin to achieve his projected $13 million mark by 2045, it would necessitate an annual return rate of 29%. At this valuation, Bitcoin’s market cap would soar to $280 trillion, constituting 7% of global wealth.

In an optimistic scenario, Saylor envisaged Bitcoin attaining a value of up to $49 million, capturing 22% of global wealth. Conversely, his conservative scenario posited a valuation of $3 million, equating to 2% of global wealth.

Under Saylor’s stewardship, MicroStrategy has amassed a significant Bitcoin reserve, currently comprising 226,331 tokens. This trove, accrued over the past four years, is now valued at approximately $15 billion—an impressive 80% increase over the cumulative purchase cost.
