Customers of AMC Theatres will be able to pay using meme coins Dogecoin (DOGE) and Shiba Inu (SHIB) starting next month, thanks to crypto payments operator BitPay. On Monday, AMC CEO Adam Aron tweeted, “BitPay will be ready for AMC online payments on our website by March 19, and live on our mobile apps by April 16, potentially a few days before.”

The company, which is a subsidiary of AMC Entertainment Holdings (AMC), began accepting bitcoin (BTC), ether (ETH), bitcoin cash (BCH), and litecoin (LTC) as payment methods in November, promising that DOGE will follow soon. AMC also stated that it would look into employing Shiba Inu. AMC shares were up approximately 4% today but are still down more than 30% year to date.
