“Putin Is The Most Influential Person In Blockchain”, Claims Binance CEO
Changpeng Zhao, who is the CEO of cryptocurrency exchange giant Binance, called Russian President Vladimir Putin to be the most influential person in the blockchain industry.
Zhao mentioned in an article on RBC News that Putin would be his choice as someone who has a massive influence in the blockchain space. He also said that the possibility of the adoption of the bill on regulating digital money might be adopted in the Russian Federation exists, according to him.
Zhao also reportedly revealed that users would be given data to Russian financial regulators only under certain conditions. He even went on to warn people who set their camp of illegal activities on the platform to stay out of Binance. He said:
“As a rule, we do not provide information to any regulator en masse. But in individual cases – yes […] therefore, if you are engaged in crime, you don’t sign up with Binance.”
He ended the statement with a story of himself when back in 2014, he sold his house so that he could buy Bitcoin (BTC) before a drop from $600 to $200. But even though there was a drop, he managed to hodl till today, with BTC standing at $8,020.52 at press time. The story was a reminder that Bitcoin, which is the most widely accepted cryptocurrency, will show tremendous growth by the end of this year.
Binance will soon add support for the Russian ruble. The aim is to give Russian users the ability to buy cryptocurrencies directly using rubles, Zhao explained at the Open Innovations Forum in Moscow, a Russian government-led event.
