Andorra Telecom Partners With Alastria To Run Its Own Blockchain Node.

Andorra Telecom has officially announced their collaboration with Spanish-based Alastria in order to apply blockchain technology in their internal processes, as reported by the Spanish language new outlet, Diari d’Andorra, on August 1^st. 

Alastria is a digital firm which is non-profit and economy-focused. It is a complied firm of more than 800 non-profit organizations that launched Spain’s first-ever national multi-sector blockchain-based network to help with the development of the country’s digital economy through the use of blockchain technology.

To recreatethe technological pillar

Alastria will allows Andorra Telecom to locate its blockchain network with the help of its own node. “The agreement with Alastriaallows us to reinforce the technological pillar and allows developments with different technologies, all of them of reference,” the general director of Andorra Telecom, Jordi Nadal, said.

Alastria’s entrepreneurship plan called Link2Chain is also purportedly going to be implemented as part of the cooperation, which requires participation from the NIU business accelerator and incubator. NIU incubator was started by Andorra Telecom in November last year, with the objective of promoting entrepreneurship in the technology field.

Education comes first

Blockchain technology will be used in the country’s higher education system, as announced by the government of Andorra in February. This will ensure more secure registry processes, and academic data recorded, related to degree and such, through blockchain, which makes it harder to tamper with. Telefónica, the country’s biggest multinational telecommunications company, announced to initiate a support for entrepreneurs for innovative technologies like artificial intelligence, and blockchain itself, that same month. “This call is aimed at strengthening the growth of companies in territories and ecosystems where there is already great entrepreneurial talent,” the release read.
