Justifire Issues A Patent For Blockchain Firearm Data Recording
We are not surprised to see blockchain make its way even into the firearm industry, with a patent issued to Justifire, a gun appliance manufacturer based in Georgia.
The company’s original device captures audio, video and other data for events which require relative force, and is described as a ‘black box’ for your gun.
The 3x3x1.5 inch device, as per the patent, will implement blockchain technology got encrypted data integrity. Through it, the justifier attachment will forward data to a network of nodes for storage and security. The patent subtly hinted at tokenizing the data into node participation: “Nodes of the blockchain network may include client devices, servers, and firearm environmental recording apparatuses, and tokens of a cryptocurrency may be provided to nodes for performing data transactions in the blockchain database.”
This system purportedly required two mounted SD cards for data storage. Justifire’s inventor and CEO, Jason Palazzolo, believes that integrating blockchain and Justifire will help with combatting critical legal situations.
“Justifire uses a combination of autonomous sensors to capture every aspect of any given situation. In case of self-defence, this data can be used to recreate the actions and events leading up to and after the discharge of a firearm,” he said.
The company requires additional funds for development and innovation of its product including new tools like thermal, laser imaging radar and ultra-sonics. This is how Justifire is moving towards development and implementation of blockchain, through this parent.
