SEARCHING FOR A ‘BLOCKCHAIN’ NEEDLE IN A HAYSTACK
It is obvious to us that Verizon is intending to develop a “distributed network [with] various use cases”and this telecom enterprise is actually not the first one to want to put together a team which focuses on the blockchain innovation.
AT&T has started accepting Bitcoin for cable payments through BitPayearlier in 2019. Microsoft, Facebook, Google, and many otherfinancial institutionshad also had keen eyes on hiring a blockchain technology engineer since early 2018. Verizon may even face the problem of getting suitable candidates.
A senior engineer acquainted with the blockchain sector told The Block that Microsoft, Google and Facebook are “taking the cream of the crop”about hiring these blockchain engineers. The anonymous engineer said, “I have interviewed over 100 candidates in the last couple of years and it’s getting harder to find good calibre candidates in blockchain.”
